Greatness

The house is located right on the edge of Thy National Park and as such surrounded by the magnificent mostly protected nature and wildlife which is paradigmatic for the area. Just north of the house the 485-hectare shallow “Flat Lake” is located.

The North Sea is located less than 600 meters west of the house. This particular stretch of the Danish West Coast is home to some of the best local surf spots in Northern Europe. It is part of the entire West Coast in Thisted Municipality which is called Cold Hawaii because of its excellent conditions for surfing.

From the property, it is possible to get a glimpse of Lodbjerg Lighthouse which is located 4.5 km north of the house on the opposite side of the lake. The newly restored lighthouse originally built in 1883 is one of the gems of Thy National Park as it stands there – alone – in the middle of the large heath and plantation area.

Further south of the village Agger Tongue (of land) is located. The area is also a part of Thy National Park. It is an open protected landscape which serves as one of Northern Europe's most important Eldorados for birds, not least during spring and autumn when thousands of web-footed birds and wading birds rest on their way to breeding grounds and winter quarters.
